Serena Williams def. Petra Kvitova 3-6 6-3 7-5

Petra Kvitova led 4-1 in the final set before Serena fought back to regain her number 1 ranking. You could see at the end of the match that Serena really wanted this and she obviously got a little nervous at the thought of getting back the number 1. Kvitova also played her part, playing her best tennis since the YEC in 2011, but came up short in the last minute. Good signs for the Czech despite her fitness issues. If only she sorted that out, she might have won this.

Agnieszka Radwanska def. Caroline Wozniacki 6-2 7-5

For once, Wozniacki was the aggressor of the match as she tried her best to outhit Radwanska. However, this is not her game and she wasted one set point in the second set as she overhit many of her shots. This loss shouldn't dampen Wozniacki though as she showed that she's capable of playing the aggressive game. She just needs to adjust her mentality and go for her shots when needed. With more practice, she will definitely improve as a player. One more thing, get rid of your dad please?
