Rome SF: Serena out for revenge

Serena Williams vs. Ana Ivanovic

Serena will be out for blood this time against Ivanovic, who upset her in Melbourne. Serena will injured in their match, but still took the match to 3 sets. Ana will be looking to be the select few players to have multiple wins over Serena Williams in a calendar year. However, that will be an uphill task as Serena sure doesn't like people to beat her twice in a row. With the American coasting through her matches, I believe she's back physically and will be able to win this. Ana can make it interesting though, but Serena will win the important points.

Pick: Williams in 2 sets

Jelena Jankovic vs. Sara Errani

Sara turned her mediocre year around with her first top 3 win of her career. Granted, it was due to Li's errors more than Sara's winners, but a win is a win. She will face the resurgent Jankovic, who stopped her losing streak against Radwanska in their quarter-final match. I believe Jankovic is one of the top clay court players in the world, hampered by her lack of mental strength. Against Errani, who excels on this surface, she is the favourite. Nevertheless, the Italian has the home crowd on her side and will fight for every single point. This will be close, but the Serbian should be able to come through to reach her 4th Rome final.

Pick: Jankovic in 3 sets
