Slam number 14 for GOATrena

Final:
(6) Serena Williams def. (3) Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1 5-7 6-2

Serena Williams moves to 6th on the all-time list of most number of single slam wins after beating first time finalist Radwanska yesterday. This win gave her her 5th Wimbledon title, equalling Venus. Serena Came out of the blocks fast and almost bagelled the nervous Pole in the first set. Agnieszka finally held serve at 5-1 but Serena promptly shut the door with another service hold. Serverena was not really there today but there were some brilliant serves. A brief rain delay occurred after the first set and things were not going Radwanska's way. However, leading 4-2 in the second set, Serena started to get tight and as she said, lost her composure. She tried to do too much and her forehand when away. Radwanska seized the opportunity and broke Serena for the first time and even clinched the 2nd set as Serena became more and more nervous. After a few tight games in the 3rd set, Serena calmed herself down and even served 4 aces in a row to re-establish her lead. From then on, there was no looking back as Serena powered her way to another slam win. A real victory for Williams as she had to battle her health problems just about 2 year back. Venus was watching her and was visibly touched by Serena's achievement. Let's hope that Venus can do what Serena did and fight her health problems. Congrats Serena!
