Upset of the day:

Urszula Radwanska def. Sloane Stephens 6-3 6-4

Under immense pressure to perform well in front of her American crowd, Sloane Stephens flops hard against Urzsula Radwanska. The lesser Radwanska is pretty weaponless as a player can be and yet Stephens finds a way to lose against her. I guess the success is getting to Sloane a bit as she's believing her own hype. She needs to be more level-headed and know that success will only come after hard work is put in. Just because of one victory doesn't mean players are afraid of you. Let's hope she learns from this and bounces back in Miami.

Magdalena Rybarikova def. Lucie Safarova 6-2 4-6 6-2

The nightmare year for Safarova continues as she loses yet another opening match. So far, she has only won 4 matches in 7 tournaments, beating nobody worth mentioning (not including Fed Cup). One has to wonder if she is plagued by personal problems as she did end last year with on a high with her Fed Cup victory. Maybe a new coach is needed as she is slipping down fast and there's no end in sight.
