Nurmberg Schedule of play:

http://www.wtatennis.com/schedule/tournamentId/3204/title/n%FCrnberger-versicherungscup

Match focus:

Alison Riske vs. Tamira Paszek

And the free fall begins? 80% of Paszek's points came from last season's grass court events. It's hard to imagine that she can replicate that success and with only 2 wins under her belt this year, she's going to have huge confidence issues. Riske is an adept grass courter who almost only appears during the grass court season. She should be able to take out Tamira. having beaten Keothavong handily in the first round.

Pick: Riske in 2 sets

Yulia Putintseva vs. Yanina Wickmayer

2 feisty b*tches of the tour will try to outhit each other in this dramatic clash. If there is someone who can rival Yanina in terms of b*tchiness, it's Yulia. Yanina has done practically nothing for this year so Yulia should have a huge chance of an upset. Her flat groundstrokes is suited for this surface. Yanina needs to keep calm and not be too worked up in order to get the win.

Pick: Putintseva in 2 tight sets

Andrea Petkovic vs. Sofia Arvidsson

Andrea Petkovic is coming into this event after a win on the ITF circuit. Even though it is a challenger event, it is a big one and she rammaged through the field without much difficulty. Arvidsson has had a dire year so far so Andrea should have a huge advantage to add more points to her ranking. Let's hope she continues her ascent up the rankings and not be derailed by injuries again.

Pick: Petkovic in 2 sets

Upset alert: Yanina Wickmayer, Tamira Paszek, Julia Goerges
Sure win bets: Kristina Mladenovic, Francesca Schiavone, Alize Cornet
