16th Grand Slam. Definitely one of the best players to play the game.
A: Maria Sharapova
Gave a good account of herself and didn't get demolished in the finals
A-: Svetlana Kuznetsova
Pushed Serena to the brink, only player able to do so.
B+: Victoria Azarenka
Soft draw enabled her to reach the semi-finals. However, still needs to work on her clay game.
B: Jelena Jankovic
So near yet so far. Her first set demolition of Sharapova was vintage Jankovic.
B-: Sara Errani
Yes, she reached the semi-finals. But she was reduced to a mere spectator against Serena. Have never seen a top 5 player more helpless.
C+: Maria Kirilenko
Benefitted from a soft draw and making her debut in the top 10. Still not convinced she's a real top 10 player though.
C: Jamie Hampton
Great run to the 4th round but totally outclassed by Jankovic.
C-: Monica Puig
Finally showing signs of getting it together and winning tight matches. Definitely one to watch in the future.
D: Petra Kvitova
Needs to get in front of the mirror and look at herself. She's not going to accomplish much with such lazy work ethics.
E: Caroline Wozniacki
The downward spiral continues. She's not eager to change though. So her name will appear here quite frequently I'm sure
F: Venus Williams
The end is near. Struggling against Urszula Radwanska who lost to Dinah Pfizenmaier (WHO?) next is the ultimate sign that you need to retire. Just sad to see someone of Venus' credentials losing to nobodies.
