Brussels:
(1) Agnieszka Radwanska def. Simona Halep 7-5 6-0
No surprises here. Simona actually served for the first set but Agnieszka lifted her game as usual. Plenty of entertaining rallies and all court coverage from these ladies. Simona just went away after losing the first set. As for Radwanska, it seems like she can turn on her switch anytime. Her relentless grinding is impressive but might take a toll on her in Paris.
Strasbourg:
(2) Francesca Schiavone def. (WC) Alize Cornet 6-4 6-4
Francesca wins after a dismal clay season which saw her winning only 2 matches on clay this year. She broke Cornet 5 times but was broken back 3 times though. However, Cornet is hampered by a thigh injury in the second set. Hopefully she will recover in time for Paris. Good signs for Francesca for winning title number 5.
