Shockers:

Petra Cetkovska def. (3) Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4 4-6 6-1

What a shocker! Radwanska lost to someone other than Vika! It seemed like Petra gave Agnieszka a taste of her own medicine, maneuvering her around and being drop shot to death. Now Agnieszka will know how irritating it is to play against herself. LOL! Anyway, really good win for Petra. She's a really dangerous player when she's in the right mind set. As for Agnieszka, there's always Brussels next week...

Anabel Medina Garrigues def. (6) Caroline Wozniacki 6-4 4-0 ret.

Caroline Wozniacki had breathing problems and had to retire. Normally, Caroline will do everything better than Anabel. However, today is not her day. Caroline's ranking is really taking a hit and she has already lost SF points here. I think everyone has figured out how to beat her because Caroline is not adding anything new to her game. There are so many flaws in her game that the longer she stays at number 1, the more ridicule she is going to receive. So I'm glad that she's fallen far from the summit.

Julia Goerges def. (7) Marion Bartoli 6-3 6-1

I seriously thought Julia was injured but here she springs out another surprise again. Marion's worst surface is clay so this result isn't that shocking. What is shocking is the scoreline. I expected the scoreline to be closer. Anyway, major points for Bartoli to defend in Roland Garros. She better be prepared to fight to defend those points.

Expected:

(9) Serena Williams def. Nadia Petrova 4-6 6-2 6-3

As expected, Serena does just enough to beat Nadia Petrova. Before the match, I thought a disinterested Serena will turn up and tank this match. However, she fought her way back into the match and showed a lot of winning desires. Good for women's tennis to see a motivated Serena back.

(13) Ana Ivanovic def. Silvia Soler-Espinosa

I know I picked Ana as a potential upset. But that was because I'm not entirely convinced that the old Ana is back. With this win, I think I can safely say that Ana is back and ready to get back into the top 10. Congratulations Ana and the next round against Sharapova will be very very very interesting! :)
