Tashkent and Quebec City: Hunting ground for first WTA titles

Sorry for not updating for the past week but is anybody really interested in what happens in Tashkent and Quebec City?

Tashkent:

Irina Camelia Begu def. Donna Vekic 6-4 6-4

I don't even know who Donna Vekic is so I don't have much to comment. Irina did upset a quite useless Caroline Wozniacki in US Open, so she is not a total hopeless player. This is her first title on the main tour and it seems that Tashkent always produces the most random winners all the time. Sun Tian Tian anyone? Anyway, Vekic is a young player who just graduated from juniors so she might be one to look out for in the future.

Quebec City:

Kirsten Flipkens vs. Lucie Hradecka

After an injury plagued year, Flipkens reaches her first final since... I have no idea. Seems like playing with Kim has rubbed off Kirsten in a good way. She faces a tough test in Lucie Hradecka, who hasn't won a title despite reaching the finals for 4 times. Lucie finally showed why she's one of the tour's most dangerous players by reaching the finals but her level is still too up and down. If she can find a middle ground, she has the tools to be a consistent top 20 player. I believe Lucie will be more prepared for the occasion after being in so many doubles finals. However, with her crazy game, you'll never know.

Pick: Hradecka in 3 sets
