US Open final: Serena survives scare, clinches 15th slam

(4) Serena Williams def. (1) Victoria Azarenka 6-2 2-6 7-5

Serena Williams re-dominance of women's tennis is really quite a feat given that she is 30 years old and facing players who grew up watching her play. Maybe that played to Serena's advantage as they couldn't believe that they could beat the player they idolized since young. Still, Serena's commitment to the sport is really impressive. 2 points away from defeat, Serena somehow escaped from the jaws of death and clinched her 4th US Open title and 15th Grand Slam title over all. Victoria Azarenka played a patient game and riled Serena enough to make her hit some wild errors. However, Victoria lacked the final punch as Serena clawed her way back. Victoria was visibly disappointed but was very gracious in the speech, telling us what we already know - Serena is the greatest player of all time. So what's next for Serena? She has won everything now. I hope that Serena remains hungry for more as we haven't seen enough of this legend. Hats off to Serena Williams. We are not worthy.
