Hobart QF:

Sloane Stephens def. Lauren Davis 6-3 4-6 7-5

Upset of the day:

Dominika Cibukova def. Angelique Kerber 6-2 4-6 6-3

Dominika claims her 3rd top 10 scalp today as she crept past Angelique Kerber in 3 tight sets. Judging from the cold handshake, you can be sure that these 2 players are not at all friends. Cibulkova probably got onto the nerves of Angelique by screaming "POME" every time she won a point. Cibulkova will strive to cap off a fairytale week by attempting to topple Radwanska tomorrow. She has never won a match against Radwanska in 3 meetings and will be hoping to reverse that tomorrow.

Match analysis:

Agnieszka Radwanska def. Li Na 6-3 6-4

Li Na just went out to the court and hit herself out of the tournament. Radwanska did what she did best, make Li hit one more ball. Li was probably tired from her efforts from the past 2 weeks and left a blemish on her 2013 record. But the important thing for the Chinese now is to get well rested and be ready for the main event in Melbourne. Radwanska continues her perfect 2013 campaign but she almost has never done well in a slam after winning a title before it. Maybe it's a sign of things to come?

Sloane Stephens def. Lauren Davis 6-3 4-6 7-5

Lauren Davis competed well and actually went for her shots but Sloane was well below par. However, the American fought hard and won, which is all that matters. Davis's on court antics should be discouraged though as its pretty annoying'and disrespectful. Hopefully it'll go as she grows older. Sloane will now face a tough task of playing Elena Vesnina. If she can get pass the Russian, she has a good shot at winning the tournament.
