A+: Serena Williams
GOAT. The real number 1.
A: Victoria Azarenka
The paper number 1 gave the real number 1 a real scare. Good signs for Victoria.
A-: Maria Sharapova
Fought hard but lost to Azarenka in the semis. However, will most probably be destroyed by Serena in the finals anyway.
B+: Roberta Vinci
Disposed of unworthy number 2 seed in impressive style; first QF appearance in her career.
B: Samantha Stosur
Did well to reach the quarters. Fought to the bitter end but lost a tight one to eventual finalist.
B-: Laura Robson
Feisty youngster took out Clijsters and Li back to back. One to look out for in the future.
C+: Angelique Kerber
Seems to only know how to play hard hitters. When facing someone who isn't one, she struggles.
C: Ana Ivanovic
First QF in 4 years; although helped by a soft draw.
C-: Kim Clijsters
Fought her heart out but lost to a better player that day in Laura Robson. No tears for the former champion as she leaves in smiles. She will be truly missed.
D: Agnieszka Radwanska
Paid the consequence of overplaying by losing to Vinci. Uninspired play and unworthy of the number 2 seed.
E: Petra Kvitova
Just when you think she's gotten the formula of being consistent, she loses a shock 4th round to Bartoli. We are still waiting for Kvitova to show her true potential. However, I'm beginning to think that the wait is futile.
F: Caroline Wozniacki
No words. No fight, no plan, no power, nothing. She just seems disinterested and distracted. A good case study for Radwanska on what happens when you overplay and get to the number 1 position when you don't deserve it.
