(9) Li Na (CHN) d. (1) Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) 61 61
(5) Angelique Kerber (GER) d. (2) Serena Williams (USA) 64 64
(WC) Venus Williams (USA) d. (3) Samantha Stosur (AUS) 62 67(2) 64
(4) Petra Kvitova (CZE) d. (17) Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (RUS) 63 76(4)
(9) Li Na (CHN) d. (1) Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) 61 61
Sometimes, players get caught up with achieving something which is impossible and live to regret it. Radwanska's body is telling her to take a break; but the stubborn Pole has opted to continue her tournament whoring ways and she will pay for it later in her career. She had nothing to hurt Li Na even though Li had already played a match before this. What's more amazing is that Agnieszka insists on playing New Haven next week. Please, just rest. You are tired, we are tired of watching you play too.
(5) Angelique Kerber (GER) d. (2) Serena Williams (USA) 64 64
Serena finally loses and I don't think anyone is upset that she lost. Serena is not a machine and at the age 30, she needs to peak at the right time. Losing here will allow her more time to rest after a hectic month which saw her go on winning streak. Kudos to Kerber as an uninterested Serena is still tough to beat. This German has a real chance of capturing the title here.
(WC) Venus Williams (USA) d. (3) Samantha Stosur (AUS) 62 67(2) 64
Another top 3 seed falls as Stosur is bundled out by Venus Williams. This is Venus's first semi-final since her comeback and judging by her celebrations, you can see how much she enjoyed it. It's a great reward for Venus who has been working so hard to come back into the game. She will be the sentimental favourite here and one can't help but hope that she gets her last hurrah.
