Olympics: Who will be the top 4?

(1) Victoria Azarenka vs. (7) Angelique Kerber

World number 1, Victoria Azarenka, will face WTA's winning-est player this year, Angelique Kerber. This is a tough test for Azarenka as the fearless German has been taking down big names like nobody's business. Also, the tricky lefty serve of Kerber can trouble Azarenka. But I believe Victoria has too much firepower for Angelique to handle. Also, Azarenka wants to reaffirm her place on top.

Pick: Azarenka in 3 sets

(4) Serena Williams vs (8) Caroline Wozniacki

I don't think there's any doubt that Serena will emerge the winner here. Caroline will be lucky to win more than 6 games off a ruthless Serena.

Pick: Serena in straight sets

Kim Clijsters vs. (3) Maria Sharapova

The focus on the quarter-finals will be this match: a battle of 2 former number 1s. It will be tough for Clijsters to win as she is not at her peak form. Her movement is not so much of a weapon anymore and her groundstrokes are more errant. But I'm sure she will still fight as this is what she has been working hard for. However, Sharapova will not be merciful and will take Kim out like she did in Australian Open 2007.

Pick: Sharapova in straight sets.

(6) Petra Kvitova vs. (14) Maria Kirilenko

Petra Kvitova played herself to form as she annihilated Flavia Pennetta in the previous round. Kirilenko has a similar game as Flavia and she will most likely suffer the same fate as Flavia. Not to mention that Petra was totally killing Kirilenko in Australian Open earlier this year before Maria retired.

Pick: Petra Kvitova in 2 sets
