Singles - Third Round
(2) Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) d. Chanelle Scheepers (RSA) 62 64
Roberta Vinci (ITA) d. (6) Angelique Kerber (GER) 62 76(7)
(7) Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) d. Varvara Lepchenko (USA) 46 63 64
(10) Li Na (CHN) d. (8) Sara Errani (ITA) 64 62
Tamira Paszek (AUT) d. Carla Suárez Navarro (ESP) 63 60
(WC) Aleksandra Wozniak (CAN) d. Christina McHale (USA) 76(5) 63

Roberta Vinci (ITA) d. (6) Angelique Kerber (GER) 62 76(7)

WTA's most consistent player suffers a shock loss to Roberta Vinci in the 3rd round of Montreal. It's a pity as Angelique has a good chance of reaching the finals here and maybe even win her first Premier 5 event. Well, everyone has their bad days. Roberta has to play another match that day and it would prove too much for the veteran. Damn the rain.

(10) Li Na (CHN) d. (2) Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) 62 61

Li Na upsets 2 higher seeds in a row to reach her first semi-final since Rome. After dispatching probably the weakest top 10 player right now in Sara Errani, she trashes potential number 1 Radwanska, giving her 3 pity games. Very weird from Radwanska as her level of play has dropped drastically after her Wimbledon final. Perhaps she is suffering from burnout for playing too many tournaments this year. This should teach her a valuable lesson as playing every single week will catch up with you sooner or later.

(7) Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) d. (WC) Aleksandra Wozniak (CAN) 64 64

Is Caroline back? It seems so as she is winning tough matches against scrubs again. After being absolutely owned for the past few months, Caroline has somehow managed to win tough matches again. Well, it's not like her opponents this time were too impressive. Beating Bertens, Lepchenko and Wozniak isn't something to shout about. And besides, in all of her 3 matches with them, she has been challenged. As I've said, Caroline must thank her lucky stars for gifting her such a soft and easy draw. Let's see if she can a few games against Kvitova. With the volatile Czech, she might just squeeze out a win this time.
