Shockers:

(WC) Tara Moore (GBR) d. (11) Iveta Benesova (CZE) 61 62

No matter how much you hate grass, you do not lose to an unknown who even struggles to win a match in 10Ks. What a horrible attitude by Iveta Benesova. She claimed the courts were unplayable and didn't even try. Grass is like that honey, live with it! You're a professional. No wonder you are ranked where you are with no real breakthrough in sight.

(Q) Melanie Oudin (USA) d. (10) Sorana Cirstea (ROU) 36 63 62

Sorana... No words. Melanie is ranked outside the top 200 and you manage to lose to her? Obviously she hasn't learnt her lesson from Paris on how to restart a point. Just embarassing. Sorana is impossible to predict with her wildly fluctuating form. Don't know what to expect of her in Wimbledon.

(LL) Sesil Karatantcheva (KAZ) d. Tamarine Tanasugarn (THA) 64 62

Poor Tammy. It seems that she cannot even perform on grass now. Losing to Sesil in such a scoreline is just sad. I guess Tamarine had a good career and maximized her potential. She will always be the pride of Southeast Asia. Good luck on your post tennis life Tamarine. :)

(Q) Richel Hogenkamp (NED) d. (1) Julia Goerges (GER) 36 63 63

WTF Julia... Really no words to describe how shocking this loss is. I guess Julia cannot win against Dutch players. As someone who is going to represent Germany in Olympics, ON GRASS, she is much better playing on the green surface rather than sticking to clay. I know she won her first title here but sometimes you have to think of the long term. Her plans back-fired now and she wastes another chance. Not sure who this girl Richel is but she isn't making much of an impact on ITF either. Just mind-boggling.
