Never in doubt, Maria Sharapova cruises into the semi-finals with a straight sets win over Kaia Kanepi. Kanepi remarked that Sharapova was always attacking ans she had no time to play her shots. Maybe Kanepi was too used to playing at Wozniacki's speed. LOL... Anyway, this win puts Maria 2 wins away from her career slam and she's looking unstoppable.

And the top 2 seeds of the bottom half holds true to their seedings, unlike the messy top half. Petra Kvitova was given a major scare by gutsy qualifier, Yaroslava, as she took the first set and led 4-2 in the third. However, Yaroslava's wheels came off and maybe nerves set in. Yaroslava can take heart that she has already won 7 matches, as good as winning a grand slam. Petra will now take on heavy favourite, Maria Sharapova and Petra has nothing to lose this time. Let's see which Petra will emerge in the semi-finals.
