Day 8: Vika stunned; Sveta stinked

The top seed topples as the top half of the draw continues to crumble

4th round:
(15) Dominika Cibulkova def. (1) Victoria Azarenka 6-2 7-6(4)
(6) Samantha Stosur def. Sloane Stephens 7-5 6-4
(21) Sara Errani def. (26) Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-0 7-5
(10) Angelique Kerber def. Petra Martic 6-3 7-5

Shockers:

(15) Dominika Cibulkova def. (1) Victoria Azarenka 6-2 7-6(4)

The number 1 seed topples as the Slovak finally wins after the last 2 close encounters. Despite serving less than 50% of her first serves, Dominika wins comfortably in straight sets. This shows how dire Azarenka's return game is. Finally someone takes advantage of Vika's suspect form and beats her in her own game. For someone who is 6 feet tall, Vika should really be serving bombs. Somehow, she's serving worse than ever after seeking Mauresmo's help. If it ain't broke, don't fix it girl. Disappointing end for the top seed.

(21) Sara Errani def. (26) Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-0 7-5

Whatever praises I've sang about Svetlana, I take it back. Talk about stinking up the court. Losing the first 8 games, leading 5-3 in the 2nd set only to lose the next 4. It might as well be a walking turd playing on court as Sveta absolutely played like shit. No disrespect to Errani but Sveta was just a disgrace. How can you play like a GOAT in one match and play like an over-eager club player in the next? Just mind-boggling. Sveta is injured, it's in between her ears. Sadly, there's no cure for that.
