Roland Garros Report card

2 weeks of Grand Slam action has finished. Let us give grades to the players who have made an impression.

A+: Maria Sharapova

She won the title. Of course she's going to get an A+!

A: Sara Errani

A gallant effort; defeating 2 former Grand Slam champions and 2 top tenners to reach her first Slam final.

A-:  Yaroslava Shvedova

Winning 7 matches sometimes doesn't equate to winning a Grand Slam. A tremendous effort to come from qualifying to reaching the quarter-finals.

B+: Petra Kvitova

Not a natural mover on clay. Did very well to reach the semi-finals.

B: Dominika Cibulkova

Took out the world number 1 convincingly. Failed though at trying to say Samantha is a man.

B-: Angelique Kerber

Again, clay not her favourite surface but did well to reach the quarter-finals.

C+:  Samantha Stosur

Could have done more given the open draw. A huge wasted chance here for Sam.

C:  Svetlana Kuznetsova

Took out Radwanska easily only to be taken out easily by Errani. What a headcase.

C-: Victoria Azarenka

Pulled a Houdini against unheralded Brianti in the opening round but lost deservingly to Cibulkova. Her snide post-match conference didn't help things either.

D: Li Na

Couldn't handle the pressure at all. Folded like a cheap tent against Yaroslava.

E: Caroline Wozniacki

No improvements made whatsoever. Brattish behaviour on court didn't help her already bad image.

F: Serena Williams
