Shockers:

(Q) Melanie Oudin (USA) d. Elena Vesnina (RUS) 60 62

Losing to Oudin is bad enough. Losing with a bagel? Maybe you should consider retirement. That's exactly what Vesnina needs. How can anyone go from beating McHale to losing to Oudin. This Russian girl seriously needs to get her head checked. No wonder she has choked countless finals and still remains titleless. Or maybe we just have to get used to Oudin winning again.

Mandy Minella (LUX) d. (4) Carla Suárez Navarro (ESP) 62 36 63

Oh dear Carla... This is clay, not grass you know. How can you lose on your favourite surface to Minella? I thought Carla had a good chance of winning another clay title but she screwed it up majorly by losing this match. This paves the way for another Wickmayer Mickey Mouse title as there is frankly no other contender in this event. Haven't seen much of Minella on television but hopefully she gets her ranking up so that I can see her perform on screen.
